Lakewood has been absolutely wonderful with our two children. I toured many daycares and fell in love with the gorgeous playground and garden space at Lakewood. The teachers are so warm and genuine and I can see how loved and supported my children have been. They have both absolutely blossomed here!
Our toddler was diagnosed with diabetes which was completely unexpected and his teachers and school staff were so supportive throughout the process. They do everything with intention so I have been able to have confidence that they take his care seriously and have been willing to learn along the way.

Hard to capture how wonderful Lakewood is. The perfect environment for our 2 boys to learn and grow around a loving community with incredible teachers. We are so thankful!!
It’s hard to overstate how special Lakewood has been to our family. Both our kids absolutely loved their years there, and my husband and I had the pleasure of knowing with certainty that they were safe, nurtured and loved when we were at work. Lakewood creates a true community of respect, gratitude and independence. The kids get to climb trees, splash around, build forts, plant flowers, raise baby quails, harvest their own veggies — oh, and learn crucial preschool and kindergarten skills, too. Just 10/10.
The teachers and learning environment at Lakewood have been phenomenal. We love how much outdoor time the kids get every day, and how involved they are in the day to day activities at the school. The kids get to experience planting and watering the school garden, feeding the classroom animals, caring for the school quail and gathering eggs, just to name a few things. They learn real life skills and are entrusted with classroom jobs and responsibilities that help them build confidence and gain experience. They learn simple things like how to put their shoes and coats on by themselves, while also getting a classroom education. I would highly recommend Lakewood Montessori to anyone looking for a thoughtful and engaging preschool for their little ones.
If I had to describe Lakewood Montessori in one word, it would be "magical". As soon as I stepped onto the grounds for the first time I was transported to the best aspects of my own childhood. The school is not just fun and interesting, but enchanting, beautiful, and wonderful. How many places in our modern world fit this description? I consider Lakewood to be one of the best decisions I've ever made for my daughter.
When we moved to Boise from across the country, my biggest worry was about finding the right fit for our child.
We hit the jackpot with Lakewood and his teacher Ms. Cecelia. We have had 2.5 years here and if they had grades beyond kindergarten, we'd never leave!
When we started at Lakewood, our child took time to get comfortable and the loving and experienced staff were so patient and understanding. Now, we have a confident and engaged kindergartener.
Lakewood has provided more than just a loving and supportive learning environment. It has fostered community, provided support to us as parents, and also set the bar impossibly high for any future school our child attends!
The staff at Lakewood so clearly love the children in their care and are committed to developing the whole child. There is a huge commitment to being true to the Montessori model and ensuring staff are trained in this method.
On top of all that, the school has fantastic grounds with shady play space, gardens, and quail!

Lakewood Montessori gave our two children exceptional early learning experiences from toddlerhood through kindergarten and became a truly special community for our whole family. I don’t even know where to begin describing how wonderful Lakewood Montessori is. We’ve had two children attend Lakewood and have truly experienced everything the school has to offer. My son attended Lakewood Montessori for about two years and we absolutely loved it. The teachers were all kind, knowledgeable, attentive, and fun. Karen and Mary are wonderful humans who clearly care deeply about the children that attend their school. I admire the overall Montessori model, and I loved this specific school's commitment to the model as well as outdoor learning (the garden was my son's favorite and helped put him on a path of loving vegetables and herbs)! Your children will be well cared for at Lakewood Montessori!
